As I write this I am expecting my 2nd grand-child this year. I went from Honorary Nana to Natural Nana to 2 in one year. Neither of these children thought they would have children. I sit in Minnesota and my first Grandie – a girl, arrived in March in Montana. Both parents are successful ER Doctors and avid outdoors lovers, so the area suits them beautifully. I am just 3 weeks from getting my hands on that baby to cuddle before heading to the other side of the country to welcome grandie number 2! We have yet to find out if we will have a girl or a boy grandie but they are anxious to enter the world! My daughter will be having the baby at 34 weeks as she has severe preeclampsia. I will be there for support and care for her, her husband and new baby. While I won’t be doula for them, I can offer love and support in this new journey that is starting a bit more stressfully than they anticipated.
